Rally in the Alley
Sierra Vista Harley-Davidson goes all out every year to put on a great event in the "Alley" next to the shop. Plenty of vendors and food booths filled the spaces all the way around to the back of the building. They even had a Hog Wash dunk tank where several young ladies and Brian took a dip. There was also a trike race for trophies and prizes. Thanks to SV H-D's Brian, Tim, Michele, and crew. A special thanks to Nicole from the parts department for taking over the Hog Wash duties from Brian. No offense to Brian, but he doesn't look as good in a bikini.
The Thunder Mountain HOG chapter put on a great Charity Poker Run. We hooked up with Tom and Mick for the ride. After a quick stop at the Shell station to pick up the first card and get gas, it was off to The Four Deuces Saloon & Grill in Tombstone to pick up a second card and take a breather. When in Tombstone, this is a great spot to hang out on the patio under the trees and sip a cold one.
Then with high hopes of a straight with my jack and ten, we rode on to the Gadsden Hotel in Douglas where I picked up my 3 of clubs (there goes the straight). For those who have never been to Douglas, the Gadsden is quite the hotel, with its lobby and marble stairs and stained glass. Be sure to see the historic staircase where Poncho Villa broke a step riding his horse up on it. Then it was on to Bisbee and 10 degrees cooler weather, at the High Desert Market for another loser card and a bite to eat. Thanks to Payton for the hospitality and great food.
We were running a little late so we made up some time on the way back to SV, always of course within the posted speed limits. Back at the Rally the party was already in full swing. The Alley was filled with bikers and the place was humming. Prizes were awarded for best and worst hands, and plenty of raffle prizes were drawn. Special thanks to Jim & Darla Straka and Howard & Sandy Becher and the rest of the Thunder Mountain HOG crew for putting on a great ride. We'll see y'all there next year.
